My next exhibition entry is “Sussex won’t be Druv” what on earth does that mean? It’s an old Sussex saying meaning that Sussex folk won’t be pushed around!
What better example of Sussex resilience than Ashenground woods! I’m lucky enough to live opposite and I’m inspired by their constant renewal. This ancient forest has a month a year where a riot of bluebells bloom -it’s my favourite time of year!
This is a wood that sustained a community of charcoal burners, where Romans marched through to the road to London and where I walk my dogs! Much to do on this one, I’ll keep you updated!
